Who ever started tbis has not got a clue
Upton park was our home
We loved going there
Every one knew everyone
Which made for a better atmosphere
The pubs were better
The food was better
Close to the pitch
Was a 2nd home to me

Great article. I’d be interested to read your take on the recruitment policy, in a few weeks time why Pellegrini has gone and then how Gold and Sullivan will turn it all around!

Couldn’t say it better myself. After working 28 years at Upton Park and now a season ticket holder at an athletics track it’s soul distroying. I’ve got to the point now where I don’t care if I go or not and 1000’s feel the same and that’s just the tip of the iceberg

I'm a life-long ManU fan (from Salford, so not a Cockney Red!) and remember the "prawn sandwich" days when Roy Keane had to rally the real United supporters to be more vocal in support of their team at a time when the general opinion was that the board was concentrating on corporate affairs and encouraging well-heeled business folk to buy a box rather than improving facilities for the faithful. It worked for United.
As for West Ham, apart from joking that, whilst their in the Premiership, it's six points in the bag for United, I don't know enough about Sullivan and Gold to comment on their leadership. Neither has, as far as I know, a sporting background so maybe they only considered the finances of moving to the Olympic Stadium and not any wider implications. I wasn't happy when the Glazers took over United, especially the way they financed it, but at least they have experience in sport and it's a completely different story today.
The fans have an important role to play in supporting the club and making their feelings known to the board. They need to let the board know, in unequivocal terms, what fixes you'd like to see - and maybe you need to start thinking laterally to come up with some inexpensive ways of improving the fan experience.
Maybe this is your next big task?
